Size matters
CSTR8 Golf Technology had one more component to research and understand. The Grip!
When we explore the evolution of the grip, it started out to be the same as every other grip in the bag, it was round. The golf industry evolved into the paddle grip or flat front grip as early as the 1970’s. It became the standard grip on every putter by the 1980’s and remain so today. In the middle 2000’s the putter grip evolved again with the introduction of the super stroke grip. They created a grip that was much larger than what the golf industry would call standard. The super stroke grip gained traction with its design and science behind its theory. CSTR8 Golf Technology believes there is not one way to create a putting stroke. CSTR8 Golf Technology views the super stroke grip to be one of the most interesting changes to putting. The size and weight of the putter grip changed the way the player had to create the putting stroke.
From an earlier post CSTR8 Golf Technology broke down how to counterbalance the putter. The technology super stroke employed created an opening for the golf industry to adopt their technology. Remember the golf industry creates a heavy putter head. The super stroke grip is a heavy gram weight grip. This gram weight allowed manufacturers to maintain their material and weight because now the super stroke grip would mask the heavy putter head. The evolution even went as far as being able to add additional weight ports into the top of the super stroke grip.
This was game changing in the golf industry. The addition of the super stroke grip changed how the putting stroke was achieved. It went from a performance-based stroke with the flow of the putter to using your bigger muscles in your shoulders to deliver a motion with no hands. CSTR8 Golf Technology recognizes there is not one way to achieve player performance, but CSTR8 Golf Technology will state that the super stroke grip only created the appearance of solving a challenge to the player
