Routine = Look, Aim, Roll
If you look back thru golf history, you will find magical performance in putting by the greatest players in the game. Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods, Jordan Speith. There are many other as well, but they are at the top. The performance in putting with these 3 players illustrates the Vision, brain connection. It was look, aim, roll. Those three words are the routine that greatness demands from the player. In the most high-pressure surroundings, vision creates a calm within. Vision feeds brain, brain creates picture, performance delivers result. Do not get in the way with overloaded information. This will only create tension and doubt.
There must be more to putting. No, the player only believes this because they keep searching to find some type of performance magic. The magic is in routine. The Players routine, not someone's you-tube video or book on putting. It is all within you. It is your routine. It is your belief. It is your results that will create performance. We all search out advise in this game. Knowledge is powerful, but only if it fits within your structure.
To change a player's structure is why we see so many top players falter week in and week out on both professional tours. The brain will resist structural changes that do not fit the player. This applies to everyone playing the game of golf. When the player changes their structure to try and improve, the brain shuts down and will not receive the information. The player will override the brain, but the performance will suffer. It now becomes this spiral of lost structure and performance. The player is now taking in external information suffocating the performer. The moment the player stops listening to the internal information created thru repetition it becomes a battle.
