How to get your eye behind the ball without lying down on the green.
Parallax
“If you are like me,” putting is where my score really gets hammered. I am an eye surgeon who has spent 30 years in a subspecialty straightening people’s eyes. When I saw the CSTR8 Putter I had the same reaction as when I first saw wheels on a suitcase. Of course! Why hadn’t someone thought of this before? We use a pointing laser to direct our treatment laser in the eye. Why not with a putter?
” Putting is hard”. Ideally, we would have our eye on the green directly behind the ball to line up the putt. Unfortunately, we have 2 eyes and are standing 4 or 5 feet directly above the ball trying to triangulate the alignment to the hole and line up the putter. The reason this is so hard is called parallax. The CSTR8 Putter is a beautiful solution to that parallax problem because it shows me how my putter is lined up and without having to change my stroke. Practicing with it showed me how to adjust my putter for my own particular “parallax.” It was like getting my eye behind the ball.
